Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren,
die geplante EU-„Chatkontrolle“ zielt darauf ab, Kindesmissbrauch, schwerste Kriminalität und Terrorismus zu bekämpfen und die Sicherheit der Bürgerinnen und Bürger zu gewährleisten. Sie erfolgt ausschließlich im rechtlich abgesicherten Rahmen und nach dem Grundsatz der Verhältnismäßigkeit – pauschale, anlasslose Überwachung ist nicht vorgesehen.

Intelligente Regulierung digitaler Kommunikation schützt sowohl vor Gefahren als auch die Grundrechte der Schwächsten. Europa muss digitale Räume ebenso wirksam schützen wie physische Grenzen, ohne seine Werte preiszugeben.

Ich rufe die europäischen Institutionen und die Bundesregierung auf, die Pläne der EU-Kommission zu unterstützen. Eine maßvolle, intelligente Chatkontrolle ist ein entscheidender Schritt, um Europa sicherer zu machen und die Grundrechte aller Bürgerinnen und Bürger in der digitalen Welt zu gewährleisten.

Bekämpfung des sexuellen Missbrauchs von Kindern)

Dear Sir or Madam,

The proposed EU “chat control” aims to combat child sexual abuse, serious crime, and terrorism while ensuring the safety of all citizens. It operates exclusively within a legally regulated framework and according to the principle of proportionality – blanket, suspicionless surveillance is not intended. Intelligent regulation of digital communications protects both against dangers and the fundamental rights of the most vulnerable.

Europe must safeguard digital spaces as effectively as its physical borders without compromising its core values. I therefore call on the European institutions and the German Federal Government to support the European Commission’s plans. A measured, intelligent chat control is a crucial step to make Europe safer and to uphold the fundamental rights of all citizens in the digital world.
